LIVING ARTS at RED CRAGS HOUSE

Vision and Mission

Under the auspices of Smokebrush Foundation For The Arts, the Living Arts program expands and deepens the Foundation’s vision to encourage innovative arts experiences that foster creativity, community, and collaboration. The Living Arts program exists to support arts and artists that inspire positive social change, community growth, healing, and cultural experiences. Specifically, Living Arts at Red Crags seeks to:

♥ Offer artists a chance to focus on their artistic project or offering as an Artist-InResidence while living in a retreat-like setting for a specific period of time.

♥ Establish collaborative artistic opportunities with community arts organizations.

♥ Encourage arts for social change, healing, and community building through the following: v Small, intimate arts workshops and gatherings at Red Crags House

♥ Larger public offerings in the community or through the Sun Companies

♥ Add-on arts workshops for SunMountain and other retreats

♥ Offer opportunities to the community for global, multi-cultural arts experiences from various wisdom traditions while establishing exchange relationships with artists and elders around the world.

♥ Offer summer daytime art camp opportunities for youth and adults integrating diverse artistic modalities.

Art … the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power, or to express important ideas or feelings.
