About This Project

Since its opening in 2001, the whimsical Uncle Wilber Fountain has entertained thousands of kids (and adults!) with its delightful sculpture, 52 vertical pop jets, over 200 unpredictable streams of water, dozens of colorful fiber-optic lights, danceable scores, and a water themed riddle that, when the fountain is on, is accessible only to those willing to “take the plunge” and venture beneath the waterfall cascading from Wilber’s sky-blue dome. The Uncle Wilber Fountain is supported and operated by Colorado Springs Parks & Recreation department and primarily by private donations to the Friends of Fountain Fund.
